Koichi loves his birthday. Even though it’s always a really busy day, it has a lot of things that Koichi enjoys:

~*  Getting spoiled  *~

“Koichi look. Because it’s your birthday I went down to the supermarket and bought you your favourite drink.”

“I know you don’t care for food too much, but we ordered this in for you. Please, enjoy it.”

 ~*  Presents  *~

“No, not that one. That’s your `on stage´ present. This is the one you’ll be receiving from me. You can open it later, if you… or, go right ahead.”

“Koichi… here. I hope you didn’t get it already. But since you’ve been so busy, I figured you might not have gotten this new add-on. I hope you like it.”

~*  Congratulations  *~

“Omedetou, Koichi-kun. Keep up your good work.”

“Congratulations, Koichi. We’ll be having a drink later tonight, okay?”

“Right, everybody. Since it’s this guy’s birthday today, shall we sing for him?”

~*  Acknowledgement  *~

“It’s Koichi’s birthday after midnight, right? Maybe we should add that in the MC?”

“Hey, as it’s Koichi-kun’s birthday, why don’t we let him decide which song he wants to perform?”




Koichi loves all of that. His birthday is definitely a cheerful day. But all these things are just minor treats. The one thing he loves most about his birthday is not the presents Tsuyoshi picks for him. Not the song he knows he will receive. It’s this one moment that his partner will always find, a moment that is just for the two of them. Tsuyoshi will grab him and hug him close and silently, sweetly he will whisper into Koichi’s ear the words that make his world shine.

“Happy birthday, Koichi. Thank you so much for being in this world with me."
