Notes: As a little present to Tsuyoshi's birthday. Yes, it's still his birhtday here. :D I hope I set up something he would enjoy.

Intro: What's a good birthday present? Koichi tries to find an answer to that question, but asks the wrong person or help.

Tsuyoshi made a face. Koichi had dragged him along on a trip. “Birthday activities” he’d called it. Tsuyoshi had been skeptical from the beginning. It wasn’t exactly Koichi’s style to think stuff up and on top of that his sensitivity was… close to non-existent. And at that exact moment Tsuyoshi felt his worst fears coming true. Koichi had brought him along to watch one of those stupid online gaming tournaments. Live. Or what they called “live”. Not only was the only thing he would see a screen with lots of things going on that he didn’t have a clue of, but as Koichi had explained to him once, the screen displayed everything with a three minutes delay to avoid cheat helping from the audience. Tsuyoshi had never understood why anyone would cheat at a video game, but had simply accepted the information given to him. The idea of having to endure such an event made his stomach twist, though.
“You don’t like it,” Koichi analyzed, his face falling.
Tsuyoshi cringed at the sight. Koichi had really thought something up that they could share and it was out of his normal ways.
“No, I…” he tried. “That’s not it.”

Koichi sighed. “I know it’s not exactly your `dream date´. But… I’m not good with setting up stuff, so I thought it would be good to be safe and choose something that I know.”
Tsuyoshi chuckled lightly. “You’re really… one of a kind.”
“Do you not want to go?” Koichi asked, smiling apologetically. “We don’t have to.”
“Well, I guess since we’re both here already,” Tsuyoshi mused, “might as well have a look at it.”
“Really?!” Koichi beamed. “It’s totally cool, you will see.”
The gleeful expression on his lover’s face made Tsuyoshi smile. “I’m sure it’ll be exciting. I’m guessing you wanted to see this?”
“There are two very good teams playing tonight,” Koichi told him. “But Tsu, really. It’s your birthday and we should be doing something you enjoy.”

“It’s fine,” the other assured him. “I’ll ravel in getting to ask you what’s going on all the time.”
Koichi laughed slightly at that. “I’ll give it my best.”
“Let’s go then,” Tsuyoshi decided.
“Okay.”
And so they walked up to the venue in order to see the online gaming. Along the way Koichi kept relating, explaining that he had really worked a lot to get their tickets. Tsuyoshi thought that they must have been expensive too, but didn’t voice a question about that. As they neared the hall Tsuyoshi noticed that strangely there weren’t any other nerds around.
“Ne, Kou,” he addressed his partner. “Is it me, or… why is nobody else here?”
“Ah,” Koichi nodded. “Because we’re early. I got us a little something,” he said mysteriously.

“Huh?” Tsuyoshi blinked.
“You’ll see,” Koichi grinned.
As they proceeded, things started to get even weirder. There were ads and posters all over the place, but there wasn’t even security.
“Koichi…”
“In here,” Koichi cut right in, opening one of the side-swing-doors.
“Are you sure,” Tsuyoshi asked warily, “that this is allowed?”
Koichi laughed slightly. “There’s nothing to worry about,” he assured his partner. “Come on,” he urged.

With a weak nod Tsuyoshi timidly stepped inside. He was surprised that Koichi apparently knew his way around the area. With determined steps he led the way through corridors, small halls and several doors. Just as Tsuyoshi was about to ask his lover where exactly they were going and what they would find there Koichi stepped through yet another door, but then, instead of leading on, made way for Tsuyoshi to pass by him into the room. As the younger man took in their new surroundings he halted, staring. There was a neatly set-up table standing in the middle of the room, facilitated with everything you could think of. A white table cloth that was flowing right down to the floor with a bordeaux coloured tea cloth to cover it. Two fancy seats were positioned at the table, two wine glasses, a beautiful bouquet of roses and lilies, two white candles , everything decorated with crystals and pears, very accurately put cutlery, three sets. A cloth napkin, a silver set-up plate, everything under a huge chandelier – and the table wasn’t the only thing that struck Tsuyoshi. There was a small bar set up in the background and it seemed it even had a bar keeper. There were curtains decorating the room and there was also a small group of musicians. Once the impact had settled in a bit Tsuyoshi looked at his partner.

“Koichi, what…?”
“Surprise!” Koichi beamed. “Phew, Tsu, you have no idea. It was so difficult to act like it was just about gaming and to keep everything from you. I was actually worried that you’ll call it off when I told you about the tournament. But I was hoping you’d give in and… well, this is for you.”
“What is… this?” Tsuyoshi asked warily.
“It’s a candle light dinner,” Koichi explained. “Four courses. No dessert. That’s for later,” he winked. “But we have a nice collection of wines. I don’t know much about them, but I know you appreciate good wine, so I got someone who’s a specialist in the field. I hope you’ll find something that you like. I told him to bring a collection.”
Tsuyoshi merely shook his head at the picture in front of him.
“Oh my god, Koichi…”
“I know, totally out of the ordinary,” Koichi chuckled. “But I was thinking I should do something… special. We have a set of suits here, in case you want to get changed. But nobody else is here, so we can do as we please. Or as you please, actually. It’s your birthday, after all.”

He gave Tsuyoshi a short peck on his cheek, while the latter was still merely staring. Finally Tsuyoshi seemed to have found his voice again.
“Koichi, I don’t know… what to say,” he stuttered. “This… this is so… it’s so…” He gave the other an apologetic look. “It’s so gay,” he finally stated.
Koichi blinked at that. “Huh?!”
“I’m sorry,” Tsuyoshi chuckled. “I know I should… be in awe and tell you how happy I am, but really – what would come of it? I just think it’s off. Just… totally gay. And what if I told you that I actually like it? Worst case would be that you keep thinking such things up… was this really your idea?”
Koichi looked quite shaken. “I… wanted to do something special,” he explained. “But I’m no good with these things. So I went to Hide-kun and asked him for help. He knows how such things work. Tsubasa always kept telling me how good Hide-kun is when it comes to… well, something like this,” he shrugged.

Tsuyoshi chuckled and pulled his lover into a loving hug.
“Koichi,” he whispered, “I want to tell you that I am really grateful and that I fully appreciate what you mean to do here. I mean, you, the one who always kept saying that making an effort in a relationship would be too bothersome.”
“You don’t like it?” Koichi asked, sounding sad.
Tsuyoshi sighed. He drew back and looked straight at his partner.
“Koichi, please look at this set-up. Look at it thoroughly. And then tell me… do you like it?”
“But this is not about me,” Koichi insisted. “It’s about you. I wanted…”
“Answer the question, Koichi,” the other insisted.

Koichi pouted slightly. “You know this is not exactly my cup of tea.”
“But then,” Tsuyoshi shook his head, “why did you do this?”
“Because you like these kind of things,” Koichi impressed on him.
“And how would you have gotten such an impression?” Tsuyoshi asked, arching a brow. “Have I ever told you that I would like something like that? Have I ever complained that you don’t give me that kind of attention when I want it? Have I ever fantasized about such things?”
“But…” Koichi stuttered. “You… you always… you keep doing these things.”
“I do,” Tsuyoshi nodded. “I like taking over that part of a relationship. It’s something that I enjoy doing – spoiling the person by my side. It makes me feel… good. But Kou, when you think about it rationally, if I wanted someone to do these things for me… why would I have chosen you as my partner? If I wanted such stupid mush, I would have taken Takizawa. But I want you, because you are perfect… to fit my needs. All of them. And this,” he gestured around the room, “isn’t part of them.”

“So, to sum it up,” Koichi analyzed, “you won’t want me to do romantic stuff for you?”
“It’s not like I don’t like romantics,” Tsuyoshi told him. “But I know you and damn, you’re a bright kid, you can think of something so much better and of things that suit you better. What I mean is, you can keep doing things that you think of as romantic, you don’t have to try to slip into my mind and do something you think I’d find romantic. Do you understand what I mean?”
“I think so,” Koichi nodded. He looked at the scene rather helplessly. “So, what do we do with this now?”
“Well, since you’ve put this up…” Tsuyoshi shrugged.
“No, wait,” Koichi burst out. Then he grinned. “I think I’ve got an idea.”

“And there’s no special occasion?” Ryo asked skeptically.
“Why do you keep asking that?” Tackey asked, sounding annoyed. “Can’t I just do something nice for you once in a while?”
“I don’t know,” Ryo mused. “I guess I’m worried that there will be a catch to it.” He eyed his lover. “Did you fuck up somehow?”
Tackey sighed. “No. Look, it was actually Koichi who set this up for his lover. He asked me to help him with the planning, because he was unsure about it. But then it turned out that Tsuyoshi totally doesn’t care for such things. Apparently it turned him off, so Koichi changed his plan and left this here for me. He suggested it would be good, since I’m the type to set such things up.”

“That is… true,” Ryo nodded. “So that’s what it is,” he sighed in relief. “I was really thinking that you wanted to distract me from something, or first do something fancy before hitting me with something that I won’t like.”
“No such thing,” Tackey assured him. “It’s nice to know, though, that a spontaneous act like this would cause such a reaction.”
“Don’t be mad now,” Ryo chuckled. “I didn’t mean… you know, you’re right. I’m sorry I was being so inquisitive. I know I can trust you.”
“Thank you,” Tackey nodded, picking up his glass and toasting to Ryo, who mimicked the gesture.
“Although,” Ryo mused, “you actually lied to me here. You pretended you set this up for me, but in reality you merely took over Koichi’s left-overs.”
“Yes, yes,” Tackey sighed. “I guess I wanted… to impress you a bit,” he admitted.

“Wow,” Ryo grinned. “After four years… you still want to impress me?”
“I work for that every day,” the other told him.
“In that case you are forgiven,” the younger man told him. “I guess I’m lucky enough.”
“We both are,” Tackey smiled at him.
“And Tsuyoshi didn’t like it?” Ryo wondered. “Why would anyone not like this?”
“I have no idea,” Tackey shrugged. “Koichi just told me that the whole thing flopped and that he needed a new plan.”
“And what are they doing now?”
“Who knows?”

“So… is this okay?” Koichi asked timidly.
Tsuyoshi smiled brightly at him. “Perfect.”
Koichi had taken one of his fancy cars out and brought them to a beautiful plateau near Yokohama. The view was wonderful and Koichi’s aura in that car had something totally sexy.
“Happy birthday,” Koichi smiled back at him.
“Thank you.”
“Hey, I was thinking,” Koichi mused.
“Hm?”
“You’re still getting your birthday sex.”

“Oh,” Tsuyoshi grinned. “And?”
“Well, I was thinking,” Koichi mused,” since we’re both here now, pretty much off-shot… I mean, if you like?”
“Oh my god,” Tsuyoshi exclaimed. “Really? Car sex?”
“Do you want to?”
Instead of answering Tsuyoshi grabbed his lover and placed him not really neatly but firmly on his lap, quickly starting to unbutton his shirt. Koichi chuckled and let his lover ravage his body. It was his birthday, after all.
“Hey,” Tsuyoshi mumbled out.
“Yes?”

“If it’s my birthday sex,” the younger man mused, “it means I get to make all the choices, right?”
“You can choose one special from your preference list,” Koichi told him.
“Car sex is not on that list,” Tsuyoshi told him.
Koichi sighed, rolling his eyes. “Okay, fine. Choose one, then.”
“But we’ll still do it in here,” the other insisted.
“Yes, yes, what now?” Koichi wanted to know.
“Blow me,” Tsuyoshi requested. “Blow me and drink it.”
Koichi made a face, but then he straightened himself and nodded.
“Okay.”
“Uh, this is definitely a good birthday.”
