Header Lucky Charm b

Koichi took a deep breath. Then he straightened himself and knocked at the closed door in front of him. He had been very determined as he’d gotten there, but in that moment he wasn’t so sure whether it had been a good idea. There was no time for second thoughts, though, as a strong voice invited him in.
“Yes, please.”
With a short nod Koichi grabbed for the handle and opened the door. As he stepped into the room he found the person he was looking for in a non-surprising position behind a desk. The other seemed all the more surprised to see him in the door.
“Can I come in?” Koichi asked politely.
Tackey still stared at him, but nodded, gesturing for him to come in and take a seat.
“Thank you,” Koichi smiled, giving a short bow. “I’m sorry for disturbing you here.” He took a seat in front of Tackey’s table who still eyed him warily.

“What do you want?” Tackey asked, his voice tight.
“Wow,” Koichi laughed slightly. “And there people keep telling me I’m no good with small talk.”
“I’m busy,” Tackey impressed on him. “So tell me what I can help you with.”
“Maybe I should have come some other time,” Koichi mused. “It’s… not work-related.”
“Not work related?” Tackey asked, blinking. Then he frowned again. “You’re not here for… ` more budget´, or something?” he asked sceptically.
“Oh, that’s not what it is about,” Koichi waved him off. “Tsuyoshi and I just thought it would be hot with you in a three-some. Care?” he inquired sweetly.
Tackey growled at him. “Stop making a fool of me,” he demanded.

Koichi sighed. “What kind of person do you think I am, suggesting I would come to you for a bonus and offering sex for it?”
“One that is very mistaken about the kind of influence that I have,” Tackey informed him. “Not that you’d be the only one.”
“No,” Koichi shook his head. “What I mean is, what kind of impression do you have of me?”
Tackey sighed. “Why do you always take everything so personal,” he complained. “I didn’t mean you especially. I don’t know enough about you to judge whether you’re a slut, or not.”
Koichi snorted at that. “Some point you’re making there,” he stated.
“Sorry?” Tackey blinked.
“What I mean,” Koichi explained, “is that we really don’t know anything about each other.”

Tackey considered him for a moment, then leaned back against his chair.
“Well, what do you want to know?” he asked, sounding amused.
Koichi thought about that for a second. “I don’t know,” he mused. “What’s your favourite ice-cream flavour?”
Tackey almost made a face, making Koichi chuckle.
“Well,” the younger man stated, “even though I really don’t know why that is the one information you’re craving, it’s pistachio.”
“Haha, really?” Koichi asked, delighted by the course of the conversation. “Cool. Mine’s Sweet-Sour Cherry.”
Tackey frowned, shaking his head. “Sorry, but… why are you telling me this?”
“Trying to get to know you?” Koichi shrugged.
“But… why?”

“I have another question,” Koichi threw right in. “If you don’t mind, that is,” he added.
“What is it?” the other wanted to know.
“Do you… dislike me somehow?” Koichi asked bluntly.
“How would I have made you think that?” Tackey asked right back.
“I asked my question first,” the other reminded him. “It’s impolite to leave in unanswered.”
The younger man sighed. “As I said, I don’t really know anything about you. It would be hard even to find things I could dislike… although I’ll admit that I’ve gone looking.”
Koichi nodded in acknowledgement. “Why?” he asked evenly.
“Envy?” the other offered.

At that Koichi had to laugh. “Why would you envy me?”
“Because…” Tackey sighed. “Why are we talking about this again?”
“I was wondering,” Koichi muttered. “If there couldn’t be a way for us to be friends. I think we have quite a few things in common. So, why is it? Why can’t we even talk with each other? Maybe if we had some kind of basis…”
“Why do you want to be my friend all of a sudden?” Tackey asked, sounding slightly disturbed.
“I don’t really know how to explain it,” Koichi frowned.
He considered Tackey. There was no way he could tell him the truth about his bizarre adventure. But how could he explain to him what he meant and about his change of attitude. Then a thought hit him.

“I’ve read something interesting,” he explained.
“What?”
“Do you know the `All in the timing´ one-act collection by David Ives?” Koichi asked. “It has that one wonderful dialogue scene of two people meeting in a Café and about twenty possibilities of a conversation between them. Now, nineteen of the conversations end in them parting and going different ways, but one conversation with just the right words at the right time has them sitting together and getting to know each other. It made me think. Maybe if we had gotten the possibility to try, if we had said some other things, met under different conditions, maybe we would have become friends. Maybe there’s a universe somewhere out there where the people that are you and me are friends.”
“But why me?” Tackey insisted. “Mind you, your weird mind doesn’t have to make any sense to me, but you could have gone to see anyone… but you came to me. Why? Or do you simply try to befriend everybody now?”

“No,” Koichi waved him off. “I just thought it would be interesting, because… while I don’t dislike you, I always feel wary about your person. And you feel weird about me too, right? But how come, when we don’t even know each other? There must be something to it. I like that kind of mystery.”
“Mystery,” Tackey chuckled, shaking his head. “You sure are weird. But in an interesting way,” he grinned. “You really think we could be friends?”
“Why knows?” Koichi shrugged. “But wouldn’t it be a pity if we didn’t try and missed out?”
Tackey nodded slightly. “And what do you suggest we do, then?”
“How about… I don’t know – dinner?” Koichi suggested.
“Eating together?”
“Sure, why not? It’ll be my treat. As the senior,” he grinned.

“Well, I can’t really turn such an offer down,” Tackey laughed, “although it’s weird coming from you.”
“Yeah, and no need to be polite about it,” Koichi assured him. “Or civil,” he grunted out.
“You really just want to have someone you can bitch at, don’t you?” Tackey teased.
“I won’t say no to some sweet bickering,” Koichi admitted. “It’s the only way I know how to flirt.”
“But Koichi-kun,” Tackey stated, fake-shocked. “What will Tsuyoshi say?”
“I won’t believe it until I see it and if I should get to, I want to video-tape it,” Koichi suggested.
Tackey laughed at that. He grinned at Koichi.
“You know, this might actually get to me a fun evening.”

“Thank you, everybody,” Koichi smiled happily, as he wiped his face with his towel. “You guys really did great today. We’ll be taking tomorrow off.”
Happy cheers went through the room.
“Wow, really?” Kame chirped happily.
“Yeah, I want everybody to take a break,” Koichi explained. “And I’m serious about that. No dancing tomorrow and no text rehearsals. It’ll be good for you.”
“Sounds good,” Nakamaru said happily.
“So, tonight’s not a school night, then,” Jin concluded.
“I’m warning you,” Koichi growled at him. “If I hear of you hitting the clubs again, I’ll report you.”
“I’m not doing anything bad,” Jin shrugged.

“I’m serious,” Koichi told him. “I appreciate your dedication, but I don’t want you to go astray. I know that there are a lot of tempting things out there, but fact is that if anything ever goes array you’ll be the only one to be held responsible. You might not understand it now, you’re still young, but… I’ve seen a lot of things and… I’m worried about you.”
Jin stared at Koichi for a moment. Then he blushed, feeling embarrassed.
“I’m not your child,” he complained.
“Maybe not, but I’m your senior and I do feel responsible for your wellbeing,” Koichi explained with a smile.
“I get it already,” Jin sighed. “No clubbing tonight.”
“Good kid,” Koichi teased, clasping his shoulder.
“Wow, Koichi-nii-chan at work,” a voice sounded through the room.

Koichi turned around and grinned.
“Hey, Hide-kun,” he greeted his friend.
Then, however, he frowned. Behind Tackey he could make out the forms of people he’d come to know quite well, although those guys had no clue about it. Before he’d experienced that weird journey he had never even looked at those guys properly. He wasn’t interested in interacting with a lot of people. It wasn’t like he felt sorry for not communicating with people, but after learning more about those guys he couldn’t help feeling sad that they didn’t even really know who he was.
“I’m glad to see your crew so happy and vivid,” Tackey smiled.
“Yes,” Koichi nodded, “we’re making good process in a healthy way.”
“Well, that’s good to hear. Hey, look who ran right into my arms on my way here,” Tackey grinned. “The man we have to thank for all of this.”

“Hey, I’ve been good with my training without anyone’s help,” Koichi complained, but at the same time his face lit up at the sight of Tsuyoshi coming in behind Tackey’s crew.
“True,” Tackey nodded. “But look at yourself now. You’re clean, you’re taking good care of your crew and you’re getting laid regularly. I dare say that your life has improved quite some.”
“Well, maybe,” Koichi pouted, leaning against Tsuyoshi.
“That’s a good thing, Koichi,” Tackey assured him. “And I’m glad to see you being happy.”
Koichi chuckled lightly. “You sound so gay.”
“Yeah, have it your way,” Tackey waved him off. “I take it you’re done for today?”
Koichi nodded, letting the Tackey and the 4U guys pass by and step into the room fully.
“Okay, guys,” Tackey instructed. “Do your warm-ups.”

He went to join his group, while Koichi stayed with Tsuyoshi, hugging him to his body and heaving a sigh.
“You okay?” Tsuyoshi asked, kissing his temple lovingly.
Koichi nodded weakly. “Yeah. It’s just… weird.”
“What’s weird?” Tsuyoshi asked.
“These guys,” Koichi explained. “They are Koichi’s crew. I’ve been working with them for the past few months. Don’t get me wrong, I’m more than happy with my guys. It’s just… somehow I think it’s sad that in this reality I don’t know anything about them and they don’t know me either. Somehow it’s a pity, I really liked those guys.”
Tsuyoshi chuckled lightly. As Koichi frowned at him he gave him an apologetic smile.

“I’m sorry,” Tsuyoshi said lovingly, “I just… don’t really see the problem. If you want them in your life, all you have to do is go over there and talk to them.”
“I can’t just talk to them,” Koichi opposed.
“Why not?” his lover shrugged. “What would be wrong with it?”
“You don’t just go over to people you don’t know and start random conversation,” Koichi frowned.
“No, Koichi, you don’t do such a thing,” Tsuyoshi explained. “Other people too do these things, it’s nothing extra-ordinary. And it might just make your life that much richer.”
“Well,” Koichi mused.
“Really Koichi, meeting new people isn’t as scary or complicated as you keep telling yourself,” Tsuyoshi told him.
“It’s easier for you,” Koichi argued. “I can’t talk well, you know that.”
“Just go and try it,” Tsuyoshi urged him, shoving him towards the group of guys.

“What should I talk to them about?” Koichi hissed.
“Doesn’t matter,” the other assured him. “Just say hi and be nice.”
“But…”
One more good shove and Koichi stumbled right into the group doing warm-ups. Curious eyes turned towards him, blinking in surprise.
“Er… hi,” Koichi offered awkwardly, waving his hand.
“H-hi,” Tatsumi answered, nodding his head politely.
The others followed suit, although they seemed to feel awkward. Koichi had no idea what to say. Why was it so difficult for him to make friends? But then he thought that Tsuyoshi was right. There was nothing for him to lose, so he should at least try. But still, what to talk about.

“Ano…” he stuttered. “Does any of you play League of Legends?”
More blinking, before Matsuzaki and Koshioka nodded.
“Yeah, I’m playing,” Koshioka said readily.
“Cool,” Koichi cheered.
“Matsuzaki too,” Koshioka explained.
“Really?” Koichi chirped happily. “You know, the thing is… I’m having a kind of team, but it’s difficult, because we lack a back-up man. Two wouldn’t hurt either,” he explained. “So, just in case you’re not in a fixed team… maybe you want to join us? We can play in turns and share analysis.”
“What are you looking for?” Matsuzaki asked. “I don’t do support.”

“I’m looking for someone who’s good in the jungle,” Koichi explained. “And maybe a stand-in AD carry. You can choose your champion at leisure. Only Taguchi won’t let go of his. But other than that we can talk about anything.”
“Sounds interesting,” Matsuzaki nodded.
“What are you playing?” Koshioka asked.
“I’m Supporter,” Koichi related readily. “I’m just best acting in the back-ground,” he shrugged.
“If the boys will be done with their nerd-talk,” Tackey interrupted them, although there was amusement in his voice, “I’d really like to start rehearsing now.”
“Right,” Fukuda nodded. “Come on, guys,” he urged the rest of the crew. “We can talk about spare time activities later.”

“Alright,” Matsuaki agreed. “Later, then,” he waved at Koichi.
“Yeah,” Koichi waved back. “Cool. I’ll… we’ll be talking.”
He grinned sheepishly as he returned to Tsuyoshi.
“So?” his lover asked expectantly.
“I think… they like me,” Koichi cheered.
“Well, perfect,” Tsuyoshi congratulated him.
“Yeah, we’ll be talking later,” Koichi stated, pride sounding in his voice.
He’d done it. He’d made new friends.

Tsuyoshi inspected him closely, smiling.
“You know, before all of this happened I didn’t know a lot about you. But I did know about a number of your basics. Then suddenly everything changed and I met that other version of you that was so different, but so interesting and… you really intrigue me in everything that you are and do. I learned a lot about that other Koichi and I really started to like him.”
“I am not that person, though,” Koichi stated.
“I know that,” Tsuyoshi nodded. “I didn’t mean I liked him better in any way. I was just thinking right now, the person that has come back to this world, the one that is you now, is different from the Koichi who visited this dimension, but he is also different from the person who went on the same journey four months ago. It’s like you’re a different person altogether again.”
“And… is that good, or is it bad?” Koichi asked warily.

“Well, for me,” Tsuyoshi explained, “it’s fascinating. You’re the most amazing person in the world. And I think you’re perfect any way you are.”
Koichi blushed at that. “Okay now, that was embarrassing,” he complained.
“Sorry,” Tsuyoshi grinned. “You know I’m the mushy type.”
“Maybe I should send you on an adventure to another dimension,” Koichi suggested, “and see if it will improve you too.”
“Hey, I’ve improved while you were away,” Tsuyoshi reminded him. “I’m clean and I’ve learned a lot about science.”
“True,” Koichi nodded.
“Plus, we still don’t know how that weird thing happened in the first place,” Tsuyoshi muttered. “How you changed there and back again.”

“Right,” Koichi mused.
“Any ideas?”
“Many,” Koichi admitted, “all of them equally ridiculous. I don’t think we’ll ever find out.”
“Koichi-kun!”
Both men turned their heads to see Kame standing in the hallway, actually ready to leave, but having his eyes fixed on Koichi’s bag.
“I’m sorry,” Kame muttered. “Is this the bag you use normally?”
“It’s my spare,” Koichi shrugged. “The one I use if I don’t go straight home after training.”

“Ah,” Kame nodded, biting his lip. “I’m sorry, but… could you check the side-pocket?”
“Eh?”
“It’s just that… I’m missing something,” Kame explained. “I put it away quickly during rehearsals some time ago. I have such a bag too and I was wondering if maybe we mixed them up.”
“You mean that I took yours by accident?”
Kame nodded eagerly. “It was a present, you know. Can you check?”
“Sure,” Koichi nodded, putting his bag down to check the side pocket. He didn’t use that feature of the bag, so it was possible that he might have missed taking the wrong one. The towels all looked the same, after all. “What is it?” he asked.

“You might think it’s stupid,” Kame muttered, “but a friend gave it to me, so I would really like to have it back. It’s a charm. It’s supposed to help you find true love.”
Koichi stared at him. Then he frowned. His hand roamed through the side-pocket, brushing against something small and silky. He grabbed the small item with his hand. His eyes closed as he took a deep breath.
“Is it in there?” Kame asked.
Koichi straightened himself. With a grin he held his open hand out to his friend, presenting a beautiful small charm.
“Is that the one?” he asked.
“Yes,” Kame cheered, grasping the item happily. “Oh, thank you so much. I’m really glad to have it back.”

“You should be,” Koichi said absentmindedly.
“Huh?”
“Ah, I mean, when they’re given to you in love by a friend their effect is a lot stronger,” Koichi explained. “So… you should make sure you won’t lose it again. It sure is a strong charm. It even found its way back to you.”
“Yes,” Kame nodded.
He bowed slightly and left. Tsuyoshi looked after him. Then he looked at Koichi.
“You don’t think…” he muttered.
“The best explanation we’ll ever get,” Koichi shrugged. “It doesn’t really matter, though. Although I’m grateful to any force responsible for this,” he told his lover, pecking his lips softly. “Let’s go home.”
“Home,” Tsuyoshi repeated. The new meaning of that word was something he really loved. “Sure,” he nodded. “Let’s go… home.”

Such a nice ending ! I'm so happy for blue!kinki :D They finally found each other and they're having a healthier and happier life .
So it was kame's charm ! I'm surprised at how easily science geek koichi accepted it. I expected him to come up with some complicated theory and demonstrate it on stage with MA ... sorry ... kat-tun XD. I hope kame will find his true love too (off topic but I actually miss seeing kinki and kat-tun together)
Thanks for the awesome fic <3 Looking forward to read more !

I am really sorry. I read all the chapters the same day and thus, I comment only now ... sorry.

I adored this fanfiction even if at the beginning, I had difficulty understanding the history (I inverted the situations) The idea is really original and the characters of the characters are well detailed (I love the two Tsuyoshi) BRAVO.
