So, I'm not really breaking my promise, even though I'm just a bit late. ^^ At any rate, here's the new chapter, hope you like it. For all the readers of LE, please be a little bit more patient, I am feverishly working on the next chapter. I want to make it really good and it's taking me a bit longer. I'll try to finsih it soon, though. :D
Intro: Koichi and Ryo are called on a nasty job. But then, some jobs are just like that. Same as certain people - especially when they're stalking you. Is Koichi going to resist temptation? Or will he fall? How easily do you slip over to the dark side? And who said that dark has to be bad anyway?
Koichi sighed, part in delight, part in exhaustion, as he flopped down on his couch. It had been a long day. After they had finished their work of the day Koichi had even refused to add another lesson for Ryo, but sent his straight home. It wasn’t every day that you met a hunter, after all. It was a rare incident altogether. Hunters liked to be discrete – naturally. Not that this particular one was…
A flush came to his face again as he recalled the earlier incident. It wasn’t every day that he got groped either. Not that he minded generally. Actually, it hadn’t happened enough as of late, he found. Well, he wasn’t exactly popular. He never aimed for that either. He was very happy giving his everything for his job and he wasn’t good with people anyway. Plus, they could be really annoying. He was very happy that Ryo was the more silent type too – even though he had something cheery about himself.
“My, what a dreadful sight.”
Koichi jumped, literally, turning around. His eyes grew wide and his hair stood on end as he saw the figure standing behind him in his living room. The very hunter that had been haunting him.
“Wha- what… how did you get in here?!” he demanded.
“Well, what do you think?” the other guy shrugged. “I’m a gotsob, so I just slid in here.”
“You…” Koichi began, pointing his finger at the other man, “you cannot… I’m gonna turn you in now.”
“Oh?” the man chuckled lightly. “Don’t you think I can gotsob right back out?”
“Why are you even here?” Koichi demanded, totally at a loss as of what to do.
There was a hunter standing in his apartment, one that he’d witnessed committing a crime and yet he was absolutely powerless to do anything significant.
“I thought you might like it,” the man explained with a shrug. “And looking at you here, I can see how.”
“I most certainly do not like it,” Koichi pressed out.
“Really?” the man grinned, grabbing Koichi’s arm and pulling him close. “Then I just imagined your little friend wagging happily to get some attention?”
He pressed himself closer to Koichi for emphasis. Sure enough, Koichi’s length answered by twitching excitedly, while the man himself screwed his eyes shut and moaned in embarrassment.
“Oh dear,” the man dragged out. “You are so ready.”
Koichi could feel hands sliding up his back, drawing him in even more. He bit his lip hard against another unwanted sound, but couldn’t help a gasp when, for the second time that day, he felt hot breath and heard a suggestive vibrating voice against his ear.
“I bet you haven’t been touched in ages,” the stranger mused. “Pity – you’re such a beauty, it’s a real waste. I bet you feel good…”
“N-not that you’ll ever know,” Koichi managed to stutter, even while his body was shaking.
Again Koichi’s eyes flew open as all contact was suddenly broken.
“So you’re denying me?” the guy asked, still playful, but with a sincere intent behind his question.
“Well, of course,” Koichi demanded, straightening his hair nervously. “Yes, I’m denying you. You didn’t think I’d let… a complete stranger… who broke into my house… who committed such a crime… definitely not.”
He looked like he wanted to slap himself and yet so torn it was almost enough to get some sympathy from the other man – almost.
“Okay, then,” the man shrugged. “Sorry, I guess I misinterpreted.”
“Yeah, well…”
But Koichi couldn’t even finish his sentence. The stranger melted right back out through the wall and just as suddenly as he had appeared he was gone again. Koichi sighed, moving back to the couch and falling down onto it again. He groaned. He hated himself in that moment. For being unable to keep a hold on that guy. For letting him escape yet again. For being weak. For being reluctant that the other had left. That was downright despicable. How could he feel something like… desire – for someone he didn’t even know… who merely played with him… who was eating souls?!
No, it was impossible. He could never… the only way that guy could have had him would have been to force him. Exactly – he would never have submitted willingly. If the man would have grabbed him, flung him to the floor, trapped him underneath a heavy body, grinding against him to make him feel the other’s need… ripping his clothes off, forcing his legs apart to get access…
Koichi licked his lips in despair, but it was too late. It had really been a long time and he was hard and the pictures in his head, while they were bewildering, did things to him and so he shamefully opened his pants and started to stroke himself. He moaned at the contact. Strangely, knowing that this was definitely wrong in many ways only turned him on even more. He opened his legs carelessly, fisting his cock in fast, hard moves.
“Want a hand?”
Again, Koichi jumped. The figure of the hunter melted through a painting on the wall until he was fully present again.
“Or something else, maybe?” the man grinned. “I knew you were desperate.”
“What,” Koichi demanded, stopping his actions, but not even trying to cover himself, “is it that you want?!”
“Same as you,” the other shrugged. “I want sex.”
“Why me?” Koichi wanted to know.
“You’re pretty,” the other man analysed as he approached slowly. “You’re hot. Really hot as it is…”
Without hesitation the stranger sank to his knees in front of Koichi, allowing himself to rest between parted legs. Soft hands caressed Koichi’s chest, pushing disturbing fabric to the side and soon lips followed the pattern, leaving nips and burning kisses on his skin.
“You are…” the man continued sensually, “forbidden fruit. I could get dissolved, just being here and yet… you’re calling out to me and I can’t refuse…”
“I did not call you,” Koichi opposed, but yet found his hand nestling in soft dark locks of hair, caressing the scalp of the head that was restlessly moving over his body.
“You must have,” the other told him, “otherwise I would not be here.”
“Maybe you are the one who’s desperate?” Koichi dared, smirking as he finally found some ground again.
“How about we call it even?” the guy asked as he drew back to look at Koichi.
The latter had a hard time hiding his pout over the interruption. Then he guessed he must have failed when he heard a dark chuckle.
“I’m really enjoying myself here,” the guy told him, “but I don’t give head to people I don’t even know the name of.”
Silence. An expectant look. A deep breath. The world seemed to stand still and Koichi knew his next choice would be a crucial one for him and yet his mind was so clouded, so hazed, he couldn’t have thought of possible consequences that were bad enough to stop this, even though he knew there must be more than just one. He bit his lip. All the while the other merely kept looking at him.
“Koichi,” he finally breathed out.
“Koichi,” the other repeated. “That’s beautiful. Very fit for a face as handsome as yours.”
Koichi blushed at the compliment.
“And downright adorable,” the stranger added.
With that he wanted to get to work and Koichi would have lied to insist that he didn’t want it, but yet he stopped the other.
“I don’t think…” he tried, but then started over, “If we are to… well, if I let you…”
“You don’t have to,” the other told him. “Just tell me and I’ll leave – just as I did before.”
“To spy on me,” Koichi accused.
“Well, I had a feeling you might change your mind.”
“At any rate, if you’re going down on me, I want your name too,” Koichi demanded.
“Very well. My name is Tsuyoshi.” A wicked grin came to his face. “You can scream it, when it feels good.”
Just for another second Koichi wondered about what he was doing, but then he lost himself completely in a kiss with… Tsuyoshi.

Koichi groaned as he stretched himself. He rubbed his eyes against the sleep in them, rolling over just a bit. What a night…
His eyes flew open as he remembered what exactly he had done the previous night – and with whom. He sat up abruptly, wincing slightly at the stinging sensation it caused. That, however, was soon forgotten as he looked for the other man. However, he found the bed and the room empty but for himself. He sighed deeply. Hoping against hope he searched the other rooms of the apartment, but it was more than clear – Tsuyoshi had left. With a groan Koichi flung himself back into his bed.
I’m such an idiot…

“Good morning, Koichi-kun,” Ryo greeted his trainer cheerfully.
“Ah, good morning,” Koichi nodded back, but there was little drive in it.
Ryo blinked in surprise, but then merely shrugged. Koichi was sometimes a bit off in the morning.
“Didn’t sleep well?” he offered some light conversation.
Koichi bit his lip hard at the question. “No,” he finally pressed out.
“Ah,” the younger man nodded. “Ano… I’ve laid the assignments out,” he said hastily, trying to change the topic.
Koichi welcomed that a lot. “Thank you, I’ll just check our route and then we’ll be off.”
Sure enough, no ten minutes later the two of them were sitting in Koichi’s car and heading for their first assignment of the day.
“This one is gonna be tough,” Koichi prepared the other. “It’s a child. Nine years old.”
“Is she sick?” Ryo asked with a gulp.
“At least that’s not stated in the records,” Koichi told him.
“Then how…?”
“It’s no good, asking such questions,” Koichi told him. “The only information we receive are the name and the position of the person in question, a time span of about two hours and the office we’re supposed to take the soul to. That’s it.”
“But… someone has to know what’s gonna happen, right?” Ryo argued. “I mean, someone’s sending out the orders.”
“Look,” Koichi sighed. “I know with cases like this one it’s tough, but it can’t be helped. We never get according information and with good reason. You’ll just have to live with it.”
“It’s just…” Ryo sighed. “I guess you’re right. Still… nine years of age… why?”
“Have you read in your book?” Koichi asked. “On the aging process?”
Ryo frowned, but pulled out his book.
“Aging,” he read out loud as he found the according chapter. “The age in which a human body dies is directly related to the development of the spirit. Some bodies are harmful to a spirit, for example, if a spirit that still has to grow a lot gets trapped in a weak body. In such a case, the body will be disposed of as soon as possible, to allow the spirit prosperous growing. Following the same system, a body that will allow the spirit to grow a lot will get to be very old, because the spirit can gain more energy from it.” The citing stopped. “So,” Ryo mused, “if the body somehow traps the spirit without letting it gain energy…”
“The spirit will try to free itself, resulting in an early death,” Koichi nodded. “So, you see, while it might be scary for the girl, in the end it’s good for her, because her current body is harmful for her soul.”
“I see,” Ryo sighed, closing his book again.
“We’re here,” Koichi announced, stopping the car.
As they both got closer to the house they were aiming for they saw a big crowd of people standing there.
“Do you think it already happened?” Ryo asked, sounding worried. “Are we too late?”
“I don’t think so,” Koichi waved him off. “Oh dear…”
“What?!” Ryo asked.
As they got closer he too spotted what Koichi had seen. There were balloons hanging on the door and the fence of the garden, music could be heard and a lot of people chatting.
“A birthday party,” Ryo breathed out.
“Precisely nine years old, it seems,” Koichi commented, pointing at a banner that read `Happy Birthday Kaori´ the line beneath said `9 years old´.
“What… it’s gonna happen here?” Ryo asked in disbelief.
“Obviously,” Koichi mumbled. He hated such incidents, yet he merely sighed. “Well, we can’t do anything but wait.”
“Ah, no Kaori-chan, you wait here,” a woman’s voice rang through the air.
“But mommy, I wanna see my cake,” the little girl pouted.
“You’ll see it in a minute,” the mother promised. “Just wait for a second. We’ll go to get your cake and your presents.”
“Yay!” the girl hopped up and down excitedly.
“Try to keep it down a bit,” the father smiled. “Be a good girl and wait calmly.”
“Okay,” the girl chirped. “I love you daddy.”
“I love you too,” the man replied.
Ryo’s eyes grew wide. “It’s already happening, isn’t it? That was her last interaction.”
Koichi merely nodded as he approached the scene. The guests were all hurtling back into the house, getting the girl’s treats.
“Why do they leave her alone like this?” Ryo muttered, sounding bothered.
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Koichi grunted out. “She’s not a toddler anymore. One would think they can leave her alone for five minutes without anything drastic happening. Plus, drastic things happen one way or another…”
“Hey, there, ojii-san,” the girl called out merrily, waving her hand.
Koichi blinked. “Eh?”
Ryo merely chuckled silently. “Hey, there,” he greeted the girl.
“Are you here for my birthday?” the girl asked. “We’re having cake, you can have some, if you like.”
Koichi smiled at her. That girl was really too adorable. Yet, he knew he had a job to do.
“Ah, Kaori-chan,” he began carefully, “we’re here to… take you on a trip.”
The girl blinked. “A trip?”
“Yeah.”
“Where to?” the girl asked.
“Ah, a fun place, you will see. So, you wanna go?”
“Okay,” the girl nodded merrily. “Can I take mom and dad?”
Koichi’s smile faded slightly. “No, dear, I’m sorry, but they can’t come.”
“Why not?” Kaori wanted to know.
“Because… they need to stay and… look after the house,” Koichi tried to explain.
“When will we be back?” the girl kept asking innocently.
“Well, it’s gonna be a long trip,” Koichi told her. “I’m very sorry, but you’ll have to leave your family here.”
The girl just looked straight at him, not crying, or trying to run, just standing there.
“Why?” she wanted to know.
“I’m sorry,” Koichi told her. “I don’t really know how to explain it. But we’re gonna take good care of you.”
“I don’t want to go,” Kaori said.
“I understand,” Koichi nodded. “But… it’s what you have to do right now. Kaori-chan, I’m very sorry, but you are going to die any minute.”
The reactions Koichi got to that information varied a lot. With Kaori it was the “is still too young to grasp the gravity of the information” kind of reaction.
“But why?” she asked, starting to sound a bit scared. “Are you an evil man?”
“No, Kaori-chan,” Koichi shook his head. “We’re here to help you.”
“I don’t like you,” the girl decided and merely turned around to run away.
“Do you think that was the best of ideas?” Ryo asked sceptically.
“Well, I want to see how you tell a nine-year-old that she’s gonna die,” Kochi shot back. “And you know that we have to. Otherwise the shock alone might make the spirit dissolve.”
“Mika!”
Both men turned around swiftly at the girl’s yell. The scene in front of them was horrid. The girl had followed one of her dolls into the pool and was currently struggling to get a hold somewhere, but failing.
“She’s drowning?” Ryo gasped.
“Nine years old and can’t swim,” Koichi breathed out. He shook his head. “This is really nasty.”
Ryo bit his lip hard at the scene in front of him.
“You don’t have to watch,” Koichi told him. “I have to admit, this is really gruesome.”
Koichi merely kept standing there, hands forming fists as he waited for the struggling to end. Then he gasped as he saw a figure jumping down from a tree and reaching for the girl in the water. He dashed forward without thinking, grabbing the figure from behind and dragging it down to the floor. Once the person turned around to glare at him he gasped.
“You…”
“What – me?!” Tsuyoshi asked bitingly.
“What are you doing here?” Koichi demanded.
“Saving a life?” Tsuyoshi suggested sarcastically. “While all you do is stand by and watch.”
“I can’t engage in the situation,” Koichi shot back. “Plus, it’s strictly forbidden.”
“Yeah, you just keep going by your rules,” Tsuyoshi spat at him.
“Why do you even care?” Koichi asked. “Aren’t you a hunter? Aren’t you supposed to be happy to get another soul?”
“I’m not power-hunting,” Tsuyoshi explained. “But I guess you won’t understand that.”
“No, I don’t understand, why would you want to pro-long a spirit’s suffering?” Koichi demanded.
“You are the one who makes them suffer,” Tsuyoshi accused him. “But again, you don’t understand that.”
“Because you make absolutely no sense,” Koichi told him.
“Well, at least you got what you wanted,” Tsuyoshi sighed out in defeat, pointing at the girl’s spirit emerging from the pool behind them. “Just as last night…”
“Don’t you dare,” Koichi barked out.
He flew at the other man, grabbing him by the shirt, but the other merely twisted slightly to free himself and the second later he was gone through a hedge.
“What?!” Koichi panted. “That…”
“What was that?” Ryo wanted to know.
“Later,” Koichi waved him off. “Kaori-chan,” he addressed the girl, trying to smile as genuinely as he could. “Shall we go?”
__________________________________________________________________________________________
“Do you know him?” Ryo asked for the umpteenth time.
“No,” Koichi answered flatly.
“You seemed to remember him,” Ryo suggested.
“Well, if you would recall, he already disrupted us once,” Koichi scoffed.
“But that was not `last night´,” the younger man kept on pressing the point.
“Will you give it a rest, already,” Koichi barked at him. “Even if I knew him, even if I’d met with him, even if I’d screwed him all of last night, it’s none of your fucking business.”
Ryo’s stared at him at that. “You… what?!”
Koichi cursed silently. “I said it’s none of your business.”
“But you,” Ryo stuttered. “You… really?!”
“Oh, shut it already,” Koichi dragged out, rolling his eyes. “I don’t know what hit me, okay? He was suddenly there and all over me and before I even knew it… at any rate, that was definitely a bad mistake, one that I will not make again. Let me tell you…”
“You really…” Ryo breathed out, shaking his head.
“It’s done now,” Koichi sighed. “I swear to you, it’s…”
“You’re gay?!” Ryo blurted out in disbelief.
Koichi blinked at him. “Huh?”
“You… you’re really… gay?” Ryo asked, sounding a bit disturbed.
“That’s your main problem with all of this?” Koichi gasped out.
“Well, I didn’t think,” Ryo stuttered. “And… I mean… what about… I mean, do you… you know… I mean, when it’s about me, do you…?”
“Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me,” Koichi groaned. “Don’t tell me you have a problem with me… sleeping with guys.”
“You really do that,” Ryo wanted to confirm one more time.
“Yes,” Koichi hissed out. “I do that. Quite a lot too. And just so you know, the only reason I did not turn him in was that he sucks like a Hoover and it was so good I didn’t want to get up and go to work this morning.”
Ryo’s eyes grew wide and he turned around abruptly and fled the scene. Koichi was left behind panting and completely torn.
“Was I really all that good, or were you just boasting?”
Koichi jumped at the voice next to him.
“What?!” he gasped. “Are you mad?! What are you doing here? If someone finds you, they’re gonna dissolve you.”
“Aw, you’re worried for me?” Tsuyoshi teased. “Didn’t you want to turn me in just last night? This is your chance, I’m right here,” the man offered.
“You’re just gonna melt yourself out the moment I raise my voice,” Koichi sighed.
“True,” Tsuyoshi mused, tilting his head slightly. Then a smile came to his face. “But your lack of frustration flatters me.”
Koichi merely scoffed.
“Quite a bitch, that little brat,” Tsuyoshi analysed. “One would think that once you’ve left the world of human flesh, such things as male and female wouldn’t matter all that much anymore.”
“One would also think that a hunter would never appear in a collection-office,” Koichi retorted. “Characters will always differ, it seems, no matter the level.”
“Could it be, you feel flattered that I followed you here?” Tsuyoshi grinned.
“Well, what can I think, but that you stalk me?” Koichi shrugged.
“My, what an ego,” Tsuyoshi teased.
“Then what do you want?” Koichi asked pointedly.
“Ah, Koichi.”
Koichi froze at the voice calling out for him.
Fuck.
He turned around and tried to look happy to see his friend approaching him.
“Yo, Tomo,” he offered.
“Koichi, we’ve got a problem,” Nagase told him sternly. “Why did Nishikido just come running into my office and demand I get him a new trainer?”
A shiver ran down Koichi’s spine. Had the boy…?
“Well, that’s…” he stuttered.
“He’s got a problem with Koichi having male lovers,” Tsuyoshi answered bluntly.
Koichi looked at him as though he must have gone completely mad.
Nagase, however, merely blinked. “That’s it?”
“Yeah, that’s it,” Tsuyoshi nodded. “He saw Koichi snogging with one of the secretaries and he got so ravelled up, he just ran off.”
“You’re having an affair inside the office?” Nagase asked, looking so baffled Tsuyoshi had to try to stifle a chuckle.
Koichi sighed.
At least the brat didn’t finish my career.
“Listen, Tomo, that was very unlucky,” Koichi explained. “I will talk to him tomorrow, okay?”
“Please do so,” Nagase nodded. “We don’t have any free trainers right now, so you’ll have to cope somehow.”
“I’m sure we’re gonna find a way,” Koichi assured him.
“Very well, then,” Nagase said happily. Then, just as Koichi was about to sigh in relief, Nagase’s gaze swung back onto Tsuyoshi. “Who’s he?” he asked in mild interest.
“Er…” Koichi stuttered. “A friend of mine. He just came to pick me up for dinner.”
“He doesn’t work here?” Nagase asked, sounding surprised.
“No,” Koichi cut right in. “He’s actually a stream-coordinator. But he wanted to have a tour, so I got him a ticket.”
“Oh,” Nagase smiled, “how nice. Have you seen the transformation area?”
“Everything but that,” Tsuyoshi answered.
“Why not?” Nagase wanted to know.
“Ah, I… I heard Koichi had come back, so I came to see him.”
“Well, you guys have fun,” Nagase smiled and waved his good-bye.
Once they were to themselves again Tsuyoshi stared at Koichi in disbelief.
“Are you mad?! Why on earth did you… lie for me?”
“I totally don’t know,” Koichi sighed miserably. “At any rate, you had better be careful. If they ever get you – I’m done for as well.”
“Not to worry,” Tsuyoshi grinned at him. “I’m good.”
“That’s good to hear.”
“Still… you didn’t do that just for a fuck, did you?”
Koichi considered him for another moment and then sighed once more and moved to get out of the building.
“Hey, don’t leave me standing here,” Tsuyoshi demanded, running after the other. “I thought we wanted to have dinner?”

Done. :D So, what do you all think? What about Koichi now? I think his character is very interesting. He's such a hardworking, righteous guy at first sight, but look what he's doing. I wonder where his character will be going. And I think it's my first time ever making Ryo a homophobe. I don't really know where that came from, but I found it interesting how they're gonna deal with all of this. Oh dear, next chapter is gonna be intense. I want to thank everybody for reading! <3 *hugs all her readers*
