Introduction: An immediate follow up to the last episode. It's the same night. Koichi wakes up in an unknown place again. What on earth has happened now???
Koichi was soaking wet as he came to. He blinked his eyes and moaned at the stinging light that blinded him.
“Why, there you go. Welcome back,” a voice sounded from far away.
Koichi frowned.
Tsuyoshi... Mh, must be dreaming. Good dream.
Koichi sighed happily, shifting.
“Yo, sensei. I think Ouji-chan woke up.”
That voice... But no waking up. Want to keep dreaming. Dreaming is nice. Warm. Tsuyoshi’s here.
The voice, however, kept insisting.
“Hey, there. Get on up, already.”
Koichi tossed his head about indistictly. “Nooooooo.... Want Tsuyoshi.”
There was a light slap to his head.
“Then look at me,” the voice demanded.
At the blow Koichi finally opened his eyes. They still hurt confronted with the blinding light, but Koichi tried to make out his surroundings. He took in a white room. Big room too. He’d never been there before. Koichi blinked.
What?! Did I get pissed again? No, no way. Ah, but my head hurts. What ever happened....? Hn.... Nagase was out..... I went to the park....
“I said, look at me,” the voice demanded again.
Koichi finally turned over. Next to him on a small chair sat Tsuyoshi, a "Myojo" in hands. Koichi blinked again.
“What...”
Before he could finish his question another man blocked his view of Tsuyoshi.
“Why, hello there,” the young man said. “Welcome among the awake and living.”
“What happened?” Koichi asked, rubbing his still hurting head. “Where am I?”
“You’re at Central Hospital,” the young man told him. “I’m Inao Kai, your doctor.”
“Hospital,” Koichi repeated, trying to take in all the new information.
“This young man here brought you,” Inao said, stepping back and pointing at Tsuyoshi.
Again, Koichi blinked.
The doctor smiled. “Okay, I’ll leave you two for a minute. I’ll be back later to check your temperature again. Domoto-san, do take good care of your brother, ne?”
Tsuyoshi nodded, but blushed slightly. After Inao had left the room Koichi looked pointedly at Tsuyoshi.
“Your brother?” he asked sarcastically.
Tsuyoshi shrugged. “What do you suppose I should have said? They told me only family members were allowed. Gotta put our shared name to good use.”
“Nobody questioned you?” Koichi wondered.
“Luckily the night shift wasn’t exactly our pattern,” Tsuyoshi informed him.
Koichi looked back at the door, through which the doctor had just left, then back to Tsuyoshi.
The younger boy shrugged. “Well, maybe we got lucky with him. Or he knows exactly who we are, but thinks you’re hot so he let it slip.”
Koichi smiled at that.
“Like that, do you?” Tsuyoshi mused. “Shall I get his number?”
Koichi made a face.
“Not, then?” Tsuyoshi kept teasing.
“He most probably thinks you’re hot in the first place,” Koichi suggested. “I mean, I must look pitiful.”
“Shall I get a mirror for the Prince?” Tsuyoshi asked sarcastically.
Much to Tsuyoshi’s surprise, instead of a biting answer that ususally followed his sharp remarks, Koichi suddenly burst into tears. Harsh sobs shook his lithe body, head hung and strands covering his face. Tsuyoshi blinked at his partner in shock.
“Sorry,” Koichi heaved out. “Sorry, just... ignore me, okay?”
Tsuyoshi’s stomach twisted painfully at the sight in front of him.
“I’m just like that. I can’t take it any better,” Koichi continued.
He lifted his head slightly and Tsuyoshi could see the tears running down his face.
“I’ll try harder, okay?” the older boy offered, sniffing loudly in an attempt to regain control and sitting more upright.
“I know I hurt you,” Koichi explained. “I know. I’m sorry. The least I can do is listen to what you have to say. I understand that you want to humiliate me, insult me, or what not. And it’s okay, really, I deserve all of it. So whatever you want to say, say it. I’ll take it.”
Koichi sniffed again and visibly braced himself as he looked expectantly at his partner. Tsuyoshi blinked once more, then made to say something, thought the better of it, though, and just strode over to the bed, hugging Koichi to his chest. Koichi’s eyes shot open in surprise. He too made to say something, but his voice failed him as he felt Tsuyoshi’s hand stroking the back of his head softly. In a wave of desperate hope Koichi clung to Tsuyoshi, flinging both arms around the younger boy and holding on as if for dear life. He started to sob again, the sound now muffled against Tsuyoshi’s chest.
“What are you crying for now, huh?” Tsuyoshi asked softly, still patting the other’s head.
“Do you...” Koichi began, then sobbed again, before he continued, “do you have nothing more to say?”
Tsuyoshi smiled softly. “You’re an idiot. For many reasons. And you had better be happy I love you so, for else you might be dead for all I know.”
Koichi finally let go of Tsuyoshi, blinking up at him, confused.
Tsuyoshi smiled at him, wiping some tears from his face.
“I found you in the park,” the younger boy explained. “You were lying on the floor in the streaming rain. You were soaking wet and burning hot, so I called an ambulance. Your fever reached 41°C. They had to give you antibiotics via transfusion.”
Koichi took the new information in, trying to remember what last he had done in the park.
“I lay down on the bench to watch the clouds flying by,” he remembered. “I had fed some ducks and they were sitting there with me. And then....”
He broke off, shaking his head.
“It doesn’t matter,” Tsuyoshi told him. “You most probably fell alseep on the spot and didn’t notice when it started raining.”
“What were you doing there in the first place?” Kochi wondered.
Tsuyoshi started at the question. “I..... Pan, remember? Someone’s gotta walk her. So I did.”
Koichi nodded, then looked about the room. “Where is she?”
“I brought her home,” Tsuyoshi explained. “You’ve been in here quite a while. It’s Monday already.”
“Really?” Koichi gasped out. “Oh my god.”
“You can say that again,” Tsuyoshi scoffed. “I know all the Jimusho’s tour dates by heart now,” he said, waving the mag he’d been reading.
Koichi chuckled at that. “I guess I really got lucky there. Pan never really wants to go out when it’s raining.”
Tsuyoshi sighed. “Okay, you got me.”
Koichi blinked at him.
“I walked Pan in the afternoon. I saw you in the park. But then I.... I didn’t know what to do if you saw me there, so I left. But when I went home from work I.... I don’t know. Somehow I felt I should check whether you had gone home, so I went back. And there I saw you lying on the ground.”
Koichi’s face fell slightly.
“You didn’t want to see me,” he concluded.
“Not exactly,” Tsuyoshi admitted. “But I think we’re gonna be okay now.”
Koichi’s eyes started to gleam again. “Really?”
Tsuyoshi knelt down to level his gaze with Koichi’s.
“When I saw you lying there I was so shocked I thought I might need a doctor as well. I was worried sick about you. The thought of actually losing you scared me to death. And I decided that no matter what I want to be there for you. I want you well again, I want to take you back home and I want to hold you again.”
“You mean,” Koichi began warily, “You mean, you.... forgive me?”
Tsuyoshi bit his lip, looking closely at Koichi, then nodded firmly.
“Just like that?” Koichi asked in disbelief.
Tsuyoshi chuckled and softly slapped Koichi across the face. “There, how about that?”
“That’s all?” Koichi wondered.
“I think you have suffered quite enough,” Tsuyoshi mused. “Plus, if I actually do leave you, the ducks in the park are gonna go crazy with your bothersome stories.”
Koichi blushed madly. “You eavesdropped?”
“Not on purpose,” Tsuyoshi opposed. “I told you, I came by with Pan.”
Koichi inspected the other guy closely. “You just walked by? And still you know what I was doing there exactly and what I was talking about?”
“So I heard you by accident and then wanted to know whatever you were doing there,” Tsuyoshi shrugged.
“So why didn’t you say that in the first place?” Koichi demanded.
“Because it’s embarrasing,” Tsuyoshi shot back.
“Well, you should have thought of that before,” Koichi told him. “I don’t want us to lie to each other anymore.”
Tsuyoshi snorted. “Do you really think that’s a very good idea?”
Koichi blinked. “Eh?”
“Secrets can be a good thing, really,” Tsuyoshi answered. “We know what we should tell each other and what we should keep to ourselves. We’ve known each other that long. Look at us here. You told me you had a one-night-stand and we’re fine. Other things you keep to yourself because you know they’re gonna cause unnecessary trouble. We work pretty well as we are. So why change anything?”
Again Koichi blinked. “And you’re sure we’re okay?”
“I think so,” Tsuyoshi smiled. “I might tease you with that adultary stuff, though, so you had better find a way to live with it.”
Koichi nodded firmly.
“Okay,” Tsuyoshi nodded back. “Now make yourself decent, for your good-looking doctor will be back soon.”
“Shut it,” Koichi shot back in a mock-pouting voice. “If he won’t have me when I’m teared up and sweaty from fever he’s not even worth looking at.”
Koichi looked at Tsuyoshi expectantly. The latter boy hesitated, though.
“Ano.... I’m not sure. Am I now supposed to tell you that you don’t look like shit after two nights of high fever, or that I’d fuck you anyway?”
Koichi pouted at that. “How about you first tell me that I really don’t look like shit as it is and then add that if I actually did, you’d still fuck me.”
“And there five minutes ago you said to stop lying,” Tsuyoshi teased.
“Do I look that rotten?” Koichi asked miserably, falling back onto the bed.
“Well, I guess I’ve seen you worse,” Tsuyoshi admitted. “And the second part is valid.”
“Eh?” Koichi blinked.
“If the doctor wouldn’t be back any minute, I’d be tempted,” he said with a grin.
“Stop kidding,” Koichi mumbled out.
“No kidding,” Tsuyoshi opposed. “I like you messed up.” He looked closely at Koichi. “Your skin is hot and your eyes are gleaming. I wonder what you sound like, when....” he dropped off there, closing his eyes, gulping. “Enough already,” he decided.
Koichi blushed. “You’d really actually want me?”
“Absolutely,” Tsuyoshi grinned.
“I expect you want me to keep this as a doctor’s secret, right,” Inao said as he came back in.
“You know, we’re not acutally.... brothers,” Koichi tried to explain.
“I know,” Inao retorted, winking. “And not to worry, your secret’s save with me.”
“Really?” Koichi inquired.
“Of course. I’m your doctor. I can’t give away information of any kind without your premission. Or else I’m fired.”
“Oh, right,” Koichi nodded, relieved.
“But then, this just might buy your pension, so…” Tsuyoshi mused.
“Eh?” Koichi made, all up-tight again.
The doctor chuckled at that. “That might actually be true. Isn’t it good, then, that I really love my job? Again, not to worry.”
“Nah,” Tsuyoshi waved him off. “I was really kidding. No offense. So, sensei, when will he be released?”
“We’ll check your temperature again,” the doctor explained to Koichi. “As soon as you’re below 38°C you may go. But watch out more, ne?”
Koichi nodded thankfully.
“Very well, then,” Inao said as he got up. “That’s it for me. Do get better soon, Domoto-san. Good evening.”
“Oh doctor, just one more thing,” Koichi called him back.
“Yes?”
“Who is hotter from the two of us?” he asked, pointing at Tsuyoshi, who blinked in surprise.
Inao laughed at that. “I’m sorry, Koichi-kun, but I’m afraid I’m a fan of Tsuyoshi.” He winked again, then left the room.
“Told you,” Koichi grinned.
Tsuyoshi just shook his head. “I’ll get someone to check your temperature.”
“Right,” Koichi nodded. “Oh hey!”
“Hm?” Tsuyoshi made, turning around.
“Did you mean that before?” the older boy asked warily.
“Mean what?” Tsuyoshi asked back.
“That you want to take me back home,” Koichi explained.
The younger boy smiled. “I already brought all your stuff back home. Oh yes, Nagase told me to send his best regards. He’s night shooting now, so he couldn’t come and visit. He’ll be delighted to hear that you’re up and well, though.”
Koichi beamed at his partner. “So, we’re going home together?”
“As soon as you will let me get someone to check your fever,” Tsuyoshi pointed out.
Koichi nodded excitedly, lying back into his bed obediently and waiting for his lover to come back. He hadn’t felt so at ease in.... well, actually it had only been 10 days altogether, but it felt like an eternity. He sighed happily, sinking into his sheets, drifting into a light slumber.

You guys are lucky. My computer broke down on me last night. That spared you the cliffhanger. So, the big issue is solved, but there will be an aftermath to this story-line - a good one and a bothering one. But nothing KinKi Kids can't handle. Wait and see. ^_~ Hope you liked. ^_^
