Nerdy Koichi
“Ano, Koichi,” Tsuyoshi called out. “Do you want to rehearse flying tomorrow?”
“Yes, Tsu-love, sounds wonderful,” Koichi mumbled out, hitting onto his playpad viciously. “Come on now,” he cheered, “just one more fire spell and that thing is toast.”
Tsuyoshi sighed, turning away from his lover and talking into the phone again.
“I’m sorry,” he said apologetically, “Koichi is… out right now and I can’t reach him. I’ll tell him to call you.”
Pouty Koichi
“But I wrote to him, even though I was so busy,” Koichi complained.
“Well, you know,” Ryo said apologetically, “Tacchon is really very shy. Unless he knows someone very well.”
“Eh?” Koichi made, flinging his arms about. “He was in my play. We rehearsed together, acted together, performed together.”
“Yeah, well,” Ryo mused. “Maybe he thinks he said something to make you angry? What did you guys talk about?”
Koichi blinked. “Talk about? Well, we didn’t really talk, I guess.”
“Then why are you complaining now?” Ryo asked exasperatedly.
“Well, isn’t it good that I’m talking to him now?” Koichi said intensely. “Who says when I’m supposed to talk to him? Not answering is just impolite.”
Bitchy Koichi
“I can’t believe they ran out of strawberries,” Koichi grumbled. “What kind of crepe shop runs out of strawberries?”
“I don’t know, Kou,” Nagase sighed, taking a bite from his own crepe. “Just eat your banana crepe already.”
“But bananas are stupid,” Koichi pouted.
“Then why did you buy it?” Nagase asked, exasperatedly.
“I wanted a crepe,” Koichi informed him bluntly.
Nagase just rolled his eyes, deciding to leave the subject. But Koichi wasn’t quite done yet.
“Since when have you grown so fond of strawberries, by the way?” he asked his friend, glimpsing at Nagase’s crepe.
“Kou, I asked you if you wanted the last strawberries and you said it’s okay if I wanted them.”
“Yeah, it is,” Koichi shrugged. There was a short pause. “It’s just that you never buy anything with strawberries in it. So I thought you didn’t like them much.”
“Well, today I felt like strawberries,” Nagase explained drily.
“But really,” Koichi kept babbling, “I’ve never seen you do that. Not once. No strawberry cake, no strawberry ice-cream, no…”
And then Koichi was silent, staring wide-eyed, because suddenly he had Nagase’s crepe in his face, covering his mouth and nose.
“You have it, then,” Nagase stated simply, moving on along the street and not even waiting for Koichi to catch up.
Frisky Koichi
“Oh, look at that, isn’t she so cute?” Koichi said excitedly, pointing at Pan and chasing her through the dressing room.
“Way cute,” Machida agreed, flailing at the picture in front of him.
Koichi blinked at him in confusion. “Is something strange right now?”
“I… don’t know what you mean,” Machida said, blushing.
Then Koichi merely shrugged and resumed chasing his little dog. He kept laughing and calling for Pan with glee.
“Oi, Macchin,” he finally called out. “Come and help me.”
“Yes, boss,” Machida complied happily, getting into a racing position.
Angry Koichi
“Uchi-kun!” Koichi yelled out. “If you mess that beat up one more time, you can go right home.”
“Hai,” Uchi mumbled apologetically. “Gomen nasai.”
“If you did it right from the beginning, you wouldn’t have to apologise,” Koichi grumbled out, glaring at the boy.
Uchi merely nodded, getting into position. In the middle of the dance Koichi suddenly stopped.
“Honestly, Uchi-kun, it’s really not that hard,” Koichi bit out. “Step-tap-stomp-step-tap-tap-step. What is it that you want? I should beg on my knees to get it right just once?”
Uchi sighed. “I’m sorry.”
Koichi grunted in frustration. “Well… let’s take a five minutes break.”
Uchi sighed, both in relief and in frustration himself.
“Hey,” Yonehana said encouragingly, “don’t let it get to you.”
Uchi looked at him desperately. “But really, I just can’t keep it in my head. I thought the count was stet-tap-stomp-step-tap-kick-step.”
Machida grinned at him. “Well, that’s what he said five minutes ago.”
Uchi blinked at the two guys. “Hold on, there was a kick in it?”
“Yes,” Yonehana confirmed.
“But… right now Koichi said…”
“The only thing you have to know is this,” Yonehana told Uchi. “What Koichi says goes. Whatever he says. And if he contradicts himself three times within five minutes, just go along with his changes.”
“But that’s totally random,” Uchi complained. “If he changes things like that, of course I’ll make mistakes.”
“Naturally,” Machida agreed. He was still grinning.
“It’s the same for all of us,” Yonehana said sympathetically. “We’ve just learned to live with this kind of thing. Believe me, the more you try to argue, or press the point, the more he’ll bicker at you. I realise it must be difficult for you.”
Uchi nodded weakly. Then a thought hit him. “If we recorded things…”
“It’s no good,” Yonehana cut him off. “The play is formed inside Koichi’s head and it develops there in which ever way he sees fit. Plus, arguing with him during the last week of rehearsals is definitely not a good idea.”
“So, what do I do, then?” Uchi asked.
“Best do it like Macchin,” Yonehana explained, pointing at his colleague. “Just smile and wave.”
Machida pouted at that. “Oi!”
Sleepy Koichi
Tsuyoshi blinked to the side. He nodded towards Brother Tom, trying to tell him without words what was happening right in front of him. Tom just blinked at him for a moment, then he caught on and checked Koichi, who was sitting in front of him. The guy had totally fallen asleep on his seat.
“Koichi-kun,” Tom tried silently, but it was to no avail.
He had attracted attention and the group was watching amusedly, how the situation would progress. Just as Takuya and Kazuya* turned around, Koichi jumped and blinked in confusion.
“Oi,” the comedy duo called out in unison. “Chotto! Chotto! Chotto!”
Koichi rubbed the back of his head nervously.
“Ano, gomen, gomen. I was… trying to remember something…”

Hungry Koichi
“It’s fine, keep the change,” Tsuyoshi said, waving the delivery boy off.
“Yays, pizza, pizza, pizza!!!!!!” Koichi cheered happily. “Gimme, gimme!”
“Gosh, I haven’t seen you so enthusiastic over food since…” Tsuyoshi thought for a moment. “I don’t think I’ve seen you so enthusiastic over food ever.”
“Well, I cn’t helpt am stawing,” Koichi explained around a mouthful of pizza.
Tsuyoshi smiled, shaking his head. “Can I grab one?” he asked, pointing at the food.
Koichi eyed first Tsuyoshi, then his pizza warily. “But…” Koichi answered, gulping his food down, “it’s mine.”
“I was just asking for a small piece,” Tsuyoshi shrugged.
“But really,” Koichi mumbled, grabbing his second piece, “I paid for it. And I’m starving. It’s mine.”
“Oh, pizza,” Matsuzaki called out happily, moving closer.
Koichi just gave him a glare that had him stop in his tracks and slowly move out again, going backwards, just to make sure the other couldn’t jump him from behind. Tsuyoshi couldn’t help an amused laugh at the scene. Koichi was so defensive of things he really wanted.
Busy Koichi
“Koichi-kun,” Ken-san sighed exasperatedly. “We have to meet to discuss the arrangement for the next single.”
“But I can’t tonight,” Koichi insisted stubbornly. “I’m busy.”
“What ever do you have to do tonight?”
“Well, first I have to take care of Pan. I’ve been leaving her alone so much lately. Then Tomo comes over and we want to have dinner together and later there’s a WoD online player-meeting at around 10pm that we promised we’d attend. They’re shooting a clip for a new YouTube video. And after that… well, I still have something to do with Macchin.”
“You’re working on SHOCK stuff even now?”
Koichi first blinked, then grinned weakly. “Oh… yeah.”
“My, you really are busy,” Ken-san sighed. “Please, don’t over-do it.”
“Not to worry, it’s Macchin’s turn to do the `work´,” Koichi mumbled playfully.
“Eh?” Ken-san blinked.
Scary Koichi
Machida blinked as he walked into Koichi’s dressing room. His boss was kneeling on the floor, all but crawling under his make-up table.
“Ano… Kou?” he asked carefully.
Koichi whipped his head around, looking at the other.
“Oh, Macchin,” he sighed. “Yes?”
“Well… It’s Act 2 in five minutes,” Machida told him.
“Hai, hai,” Koichi sighed, waving him off and cowering on the floor again.
“Sorry, but what are you doing there?” the younger man asked, looking confused.
“Ah,” Koichi sighed, sitting up again. “When I came back in Pan was sitting in the door. You know, I was all roughed up, with the fake-blood all over my face and sweaty and stuff, so I think she had a little shock and now she’s hiding under there.” With that he bent back down again. “Come here, baby,” he crooned. “It’s all fine. Look, daddy’s okay. I’m all cleaned up too.”
Picky Koichi
“What about that one?” Tsuyoshi suggested, pointing at yet another bento-box.
“No,” Koichi dragged out, “that one has pickled vegetables.”
Tsuyoshi sighed exasperatedly. “If you keep going like this, we’re gonna miss our train. You realise we have a show tonight, right?”
“Well, since I have to go by train, because coward-Tsuyoshi won’t fly, I want a bento,” Koichi said with a pout.
“Then just pick one,” Tsuyoshi sighed, “I’ll eat whatever you don’t like.”
“No,” Koichi insisted, “these are expensive, so I’ll pick something I can eat entirely.”
Tsuyoshi rolled his eyes. “Whatever, decide for yourself, I’ll go buy some drinks. For you?”
“Tea,” Koichi ordered. “Ah, but not green. And not red either. Jasmine might be good.”
“Jasmine,” Tsuyoshi nodded, already leaving.
“Ah,” Koichi called after him. “And no can. I want a bottle. And please try to buy it hot.”
Sexy Koichi
“Woah,” Koichi sighed.
He had the tour towel still like a hood over his head, drying his sweaty hair lazily. His topless chest was heaving slightly. Obviously spent, he flopped down on the couch in their shared dressing room, the towel covering part of his face.
“Tsuyoshi, we have to cut the encore part,” he decided, still wiggling the towel over his head weirdly.
“You won’t hear me complain,” his partner said with a grin, watching his lover.
“Mh,” Koichi hummed absentmindedly, hand leaving the towel on his head and moving to his chest.
“Tsu, water?” he mumbled weakly.
“It’s really because you won’t stop jumping around until the last note has been played,” Tsuyoshi told him, moving to the table to get a bottle of water.
“You have to give it your everything,” Koichi retorted. “Every time.”
“I know,” Tsuyoshi sighed.
As he turned around again, he found Koichi lying on his back, legs spread-eagled over the couch and his hand stroking over his chest in lazy patterns. Tsuyoshi bit his lip.
“Tsuyoshi,” Koichi whined.
And Tsuyoshi jumped – right on top of his lover.
Koichi blinked at him in surprise.
“What now?” the older man asked.
“You don’t even know how sexy you are, do you?” Tsuyoshi asked, placing the bottle on the floor next to them.
“Eh?” Koichi blinked again. “No way. I’m totally roughed up, my body feels like it’s glowing, I’m sweating all over…”
With a groan Tsuyoshi attacked his lover’s lips fiercely.
“You’re driving me mad,” he told the other once he drew back again.
“Well, I guess if I give an impression like that, I’ll have yet another performance to complete tonight,” Koichi grinned.
“Make sure to give this one your everything too,” Tsuyoshi grinned back.
“Absolutely.”
Ugly Koichi
“So, let’s talk about your partner,” the interview lady decided.
“Ah, Koichi-san,” Tsuyoshi nodded. “Hai.”
“Well, looking at the two of you, your style is very significant,” the woman said. “When looking at Koichi, he is always perfectly dressed, hair styled and looking totally cool. Have you ever seen him in an unbecoming state?”
Tsuyoshi laughed slightly. “Well, yes. I do that a lot.”
“Oh, when?”
“Well, first off, when Koichi comes to rehearsal… I think he’ll just crawl out of bed and simply grab whatever clothes lie about on the floor and he puts them on and then gets going. He totally looks like an old man all the time.”
“Really?”
“The track-suit prince is what people have started to call him,” Tsuyoshi said with a grin. “But even more than that,” he continued, “even though it’s cute, Koichi is totally ugly when he wakes up. His hair is all messy and his face all screwed up because he hates sunlight in the morning.”
“Sorry,” the woman interrupted, “but how do you know what Koichi-san looks like when waking up?”
Tsuyoshi blinked at that. “Oh,” he said, looking a bit lost. “Yeah, well… you know…” He bit his lip. “Can we scratch that last statement?”
Classy Koichi
“But… it’s about 1.800 people,” Machida tried to reason.
“1.800 people who have come to see us perform,” Koichi told him sternly. “Having to send them home without finishing our task… it’s just not right.”
“Well, it’s not like you could help it,” Machida told him, clasping his shoulder.
“I know that,” Koichi sighed, giving the other a thankful smile. “Just… I just have to do this. Definitely.”
“Really, going to shake hands with everyone,” the younger man mused. “Well, it’s your show, so your word goes. Anything I can do?”
“Get me some water,” Koichi requested. “And a hand disinfection.”
Dainty Koichi
“Yosh, yosh, yosh, yosh, yosh,” Koichi kept crooning playfully as he played around and caressed Pan on the floor.
Sitting on the sofa, Nagase watched the scene in a kind of weirded-out fascination.
“Really,” the taller boy said thoughtfully, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a master adding to his little puppy’s cuteness rather than the other way around.”
Koichi, however, didn’t even notice he was being talked to, still playing with his dog.
“Aw,” Koichi said after a while, picking his dog up into his arms, “isn’t she so cute?”
“Not half as cute as you are,” Nagase told him. “Really, if I didn’t know it better, I’d think you’re in love with this one. I’ve really never seen you fawn and flail like this – not even over your original autograph from Michael Schumacher.”
Koichi just stuck out his tongue to his friend and Nagase had to laugh.
“Kawaii~!” he fake-squealed
“Why, you!” Koichi laughed out, attacking his friend on the sofa.

Cuddly Koichi
“I looooooooooooooooove you,” Koichi mumbled out, a broad grin on his face.
“Yeah, I know,” Uchi sighed, arranging Koichi on his bed.
As he made to get back up to get changed, Koichi pulled on his shirt and hugged him tightly, Uchi landing right on top of him.
“Mh, warm,” Koichi sighed in content.
“Ano… Koichi-kun,” Uchi said warily. “You should sleep.”
“Not tired,” Koichi told him playfully, tipping his index finger against Uchi's nose. He laughed. “Uchi-kun looks funny.”
“Koichi, you’re drunk,” Uchi tried to reason. “Try and sleep now.”
As soon as Uchi drew back, though, Koichi started to whine.
“No, Uchi-kun stay,” he pleaded. “Koichi wants to cuddle.”
Uchi sighed, lying down next to Koichi, watching him warily.
“Hi,” Koichi said happily.
“Hi,” Uchi answered, a small smile playing on his lips.
He liked cuddly Koichi, he decided – even though he’d have quite some things to explain to Tsuyoshi.
