Notes: Hello, again! Updating this one first for a change. ^^ It's been a long week, but I managed to finish another 2 chaps. ^^ I'm revealing hte setting of the story now. :D I hope you'll enjoy it.

Intro: Koichi is stuck in a world he doesn't understand and things he doesn't remember... until he realises that his memories aren't missing - they're different...

Koichi fumbled around in his pocket for his key card. He sighed deeply, checking his watch. He was late. Like, really late. Wondering if Tsuyoshi would be angry with him he simply waved at the guy at the reception shortly, who merely blinked at his form swishing by. As he moved on to the elevator, he thought of a good excuse he could use to ease Tsuyoshi’s anger. Well, he had bought him his favourite food, so that would already earn him at least a little bit of mercy, but even so… He finally got a hold of his card and ripped it out, calling the elevator. Or actually, he tried. The thing wouldn’t move. Koichi tried again, but nothing happened. He swore silently and set down his packages to get back to the reception.

“Seems to be broken,” he stated simply, handing the card to the man standing at the counter.

The guy merely took a close look at the card, then took it and nodded.

“You can use this one for the time being,” he stated. “Your apartment number?”

“C-1206,” Koichi muttered as he grabbed for the card and headed off again. “Sorry, I’m kind of in a hurry,” he called over his shoulder.

Finally the elevator came and Koichi sighed in relief. It’s not like he and Tsuyoshi didn’t have enough trouble, a fight was the last thing he needed at the moment. He kept tapping his foot on the floor the entire way up. As soon as he got out of the elevator he tried to grasp his packages again so he could use the key card, but in the end found it too bothersome, so he simply rang at the door with his elbow.

“What ever are you doing here?” Tsuyoshi asked as he opened the door.

“Sorry, I’m stuffed,” Koichi apologized as he squeezed inside and past the other. “Plus, I had some trouble. Seems my card is broken, or something. Sorry for ringing you out, I’ll take these right to the fridge.”

“It’s… okay,” Tsuyoshi stated. “Just… why did you come in the first place?”

“Oh, come on now,” Koichi dragged out, rolling his eyes as he made his way into the kitchen. “There’s no need to be like that just because I’m a bit late. Here, I bought curry for you too,” he offered holding up a small bag.

Tsuyoshi accepted it with a nod, but still kept inspecting Koichi, who unpacked what looked like a week’s grocery, starting to put stuff into the fridge, drawers and cupboards.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Tsuyoshi finally asked carefully.

“I’m fine,” Koichi assured him, halting his rummaging to shoot him a little smile. Then he tilted his head, considering Tsuyoshi. “And aren’t you going to say thanks?” he asked expectantly.

Tsuyoshi blinked at the bag in his hands, then looked back at Koichi.

“Oh yeah,” he nodded. “Of course. Thank you.”

Koichi pouted. Obviously that had not been what he had wanted. Even so he resumed his unpacking.

“I saw you cleaned up,” he stated.

Tsuyoshi blinked once again. “Sorry?”

“I’ve been a bit messy lately,” Koichi admitted. “Sorry you had work because of that. My stuff in my composing room?”

“Really, Koichi, what is it with you?” Tsuyoshi asked, starting to feel aggravated. “You talk like you live here and just went out for shopping.”

“But…” Koichi frowned, “I do live here.”

About half an hour after the doctor had arrived, he left the place again.

“Thank you so much for coming,” Tsuyoshi said politely, bowing once more before closing the door again. He sighed. “So, there is really nothing wrong with you. No signs on injury or even something remotely the like.”

“I've been thinking,” Koichi stated, his voice flat.

“Huh?”

“I don't feel like I don't remember anything,” Koichi explained. “I feel like... I remember every minutes of every day in the past 10 years. Just... what I remember is very different from what I find right now.”

“So, what do you remember?” Tsuyoshi asked, sitting down in an armchair, making sure to give Koichi all the space he most probably wanted and needed.

“I remember us being... well, colleagues, I remember the recording I did the other day, the shooting the day after, I remember the tour during the summer, I remember living in that apartment, I remember leaving it this morning... I remember all of that.” He sighed.

“And... when did things start to be different?” Tsuyoshi asked.

Koichi blinked at that. “That's a very good question,” he stated. “How come I haven't tried to figure that out yet? Let me see... It must have happened on my walk home. I remember on the train Kasuga-san still talked to me, she lives in the area too. So it must have been somewhere between the station... and the moment I couldn't open the lock to my apartment anymore.”

“That can't be more than five minutes,” Tsuyoshi analysed.

“Something like that,” Koichi agreed. “Somewhere around there... but nothing really...” he stopped, frowning slightly.

“What?” Tsuyoshi asked demandingly. “You remember something?”

Koichi tilted his head slightly. “Well, I... there was...”

“Yes?”

“It felt like a small sweep of wind,” Koichi explained. “Just a little something. I remember, I turned around, I had thought someone had passed by me, but nobody was there, so then I just resumed my walk home. But there wasn't anything.”

“Did you do anything?” Tsuyoshi asked. “I mean, anything out of the ordinary?”

“Not really,” Koichi shrugged.

“Could it be,” Tsuyoshi mused, inspecting Koichi closely.

“What?” Koichi wanted to know.

“This might sound very weird, but what if... You know, you've told me once that there is this theory about alternative universes, something like a universe in other dimensions, things that could be very similar to what we have, but not exactly the same, because... well, too many factors, or something. You don't think you...”

“That I fell through a hole between two dimensions?” Koichi asked, sounding sceptical. “I don't know. Even if that theory applied, even if I had met something like a "door" or something, even then it means that I myself and he, the person you know as Koichi, would have had to be at the very exact same place at the exact same second.”

“Not very likely,” Tsuyoshi admitted.

“It's not very likely I'd go to bed with you either,” Koichi told him.

Tsuyoshi's heart gave a painful throb, but he shoved that away for the time being. There were more important things to be dealt with. Then a thought hit him.

“Hold on,” he said, eyes growing wide.

“What?”
“Okay, I know I'm still on that weird idea, but... Koichi wanted to get something from his parents’ place today. They live in the area too, right?”

“So it is possible... two objects of two different dimensions were in the exact same place at the exact same time,” Koichi mused. “That still doesn't explain why something like this would happen, but actually, right now it's our best guess.”

Tsuyoshi stared at him. “You really think that is what happened?”

“It is still very unlikely,” Koichi admitted, “but really, what to make of this situation? Look at this. I'm here and I don't know a thing of what’s going on, I have memories that obviously do not apply with this reality, but I have no injuries, or anything and I don't think I've simply lost my mind somewhere on the way home. Plus, other than these differences my mind works perfectly clearly, so the best explanation really is... that I have moved into another dimension.”

A longer silence filled the room as both of them considered the possibility.

“And... what do we do about this now?” Tsuyoshi finally asked.

“I totally don't know,” Koichi admitted. “I mean, if there is... a way back... maybe if we recreated all the conditions...”

“How can we?” Tsuyoshi asked. “You cannot go back to that time again.”

“True,” Koichi nodded. “But we can try to fit as many factors as we can.”

“Meaning?”

“The same day, the same time, the same spot, the same weather might help too, but that's the thing we have least influence on. Same clothing, same items. If we match as much as possible, maybe we can make it work,” Koichi suggested.

“It's still a mad idea,” Tsuyoshi said shaking his head.

“Probably,” Koichi agreed. “But since we don't have any better idea, I think it's worth the try.”

“Just... the same day... that won't be possible,” Tsuyoshi reminded him.

“We can match the date and day of the week,” Koichi explained. “Those are the two factors that will reoccur soonest. So, it's Wednesday today and it's the 15th, right?”

Tsuyoshi nodded and Koichi pulled out his phone to check his calendar.

“Pretty lucky,” he stated, trying to smile encouragingly. “The next Wednesday that is on a 15th will be in February.”

“February?” Tsuyoshi asked. “That's like 4 months from now.”

“Let me tell you, we're lucky,” Koichi told him.

“But still.. that is so long...” Tsuyoshi mumbled.

“We can still try to figure something else out in the meantime,” Koichi told him. “But this is something I definitely want to try.”

“It means, though, that Koichi - I mean, well, yes, Koichi, the one who is now in your dimension, he'd have to come up with the same idea, right?” Tsuyoshi asked.

“Well, if we're at least remotely alike, I think he will think of this and go for the same thing.”

“Actually it was me who suggested all of this,” Tsuyoshi reminded him.

“Well, then let's hope that Tsuyoshi listens as well to my stories as you do,” Koichi smiled. “It's weird to talk like that... But... you know what I mean.”

"You don't think that... you really..." Tsuyoshi said sceptically.

"It's the only good explanation I can find," Koichi insisted. "Somehow I must have changed dimensions. Now I'm here and your Koichi is... with my Tsuyoshi."

"And you really think you can go back just by walking that same path again?"

"Well, assuming that Koichi and I think somewhat alike, I think that's what he'll try to do."

"So, next Wednesday, same time, same place?" Tsuyoshi asked.

Koichi nodded his head. "That must be it."

"Let's hope it is," Tsuyoshi sighed.

"Say," Koichi asked carefully, taking a look around the place, "you're not... living with him?"

"Er... no?"

"Ah," Koichi nodded, starting to feel weird.

"Why?" Tsuyoshi asked, scratching his arm nervously, for he had a feeling he already knew the answer to his next question. "Do you... live with... well, your Tsuyoshi?"

Koichi merely nodded. "Several years already."

"I'm guessing it's not because he couldn't find himself a wife," Tsuyoshi stated simply.

"That's not the reason he keeps telling me," Koichi answered, a small smile coming to his lips.

"I see," Tsuyoshi nodded. "I'm sorry, this must be... difficult for you."

"So, you're just friends?" Koichi asked.

"More something like... colleagues, really," Tsuyoshi told him.

"Really?" Koichi asked, sounding sad. "But... we're an awesome couple, really. Isn't there anything that you like about him?"

"I guess we kind of missed the... you know, the moment," Tsuyoshi shrugged. "We've settled for this. It works pretty well."

"Still, next to you," Koichi frowned, "I don't really have a lot of friends. Don't you think he's lonely?"

"Ah, he's mainly hanging with Nagase," Tsuyoshi waved him off. "Close to every day."

"Tomo," Koichi mused. Then he nodded. "He's cool."

"See?" Tsuyoshi said with a smile. "He's fine."

"I still think you'd be good for him," Koichi stated.

At that Tsuyoshi blinked.

"Hey, do you have something to eat?" Koichi asked suddenly.

"Sure, any special wishes?"

"Not really," Koichi smiled. "So long as you cook it. I've always quite liked your cooking."

"Huh?"

"Sorry," Koichi waved him off. "It's a thing between me and Tsuyoshi."

"Ah. Well, okay. I'll cook."

Tsuyoshi eyed Koichi sceptically. “Do you really think this can work?”

“Trust me, I want to get out of this just as much as you want... well, Koichi back,” Koichi told the other. “As it is, this is my only good guess. And I really hope that it's going to work, yes.”

“Okay,” Tsuyoshi nodded. “Then, let's try that. In the meantime...”

“That's going to be difficult,” Koichi admitted. “I guess I'll just have to come to work and hope that nobody else will notice.”

Tsuyoshi nodded. “You can stay here,” he offered, as though he had guessed Koichi's thoughts, “if it's okay for you.”

“Thank you,” Koichi replied with a nod. “I would really like to stay. Since I can talk to you openly, you know. So I won't have to be so careful.”

“Of course,” Tsuyoshi said. “So, do you want to have dinner?”

“Sure,” Koichi beamed. “What are we having?”

“I made hamburgers,” Tsuyoshi answered easily. “If you're anything like... my Koichi, you'll go for stuff like that if one gets you to eat at all.”

“I do like them,” Koichi answered happily. “I don't know what you mean, though. I eat practically all day. Everybody keeps telling me they envy me, because I don't get fat.”

“Is that so?” Tsuyoshi grinned. “What do you know, there are some good features to you.”

“Huh?”

“Koichi doesn't exactly eat much,” Tsuyoshi told him. “He says he just keeps forgetting, but I'm starting to think... that he really doesn't want to eat for some reason. You know, like, he's trying to control it for some reason.”

“Hm,” Koichi mused. “Have you ever asked him?”

“Many times,” Tsuyoshi told him as he set a plate in front of him with a huge hamburger on it, sided with a good portion of rice. “He keeps saying it's nothing.”

“But you don't believe him?” Koichi frowned.

“It's just happening too much,” Tsuyoshi shrugged.

“Maybe you should tell him that,” Koichi suggested. “If he knew how troubled you are, I'm sure he'd make more of a point.”

“You think?” Tsuyoshi asked, arching a brow.

“Definitely,” Koichi nodded.

With that he dug into his meal. Then his head shot up again and he mumbled around a mouthful of food.

“Itadakimasu!”

Tsuyoshi laughed at that. “Seems like your manners are similar to my Koichi's. Please, just enjoy it.”

And Koichi did. It felt like he hadn't eaten in forever and this meal was really good. He was truly surprised at his partner’s unknown cooking skills.

“Gochiso-sama desu,” he said, looking more than pleased as he finished his plate. “Thank you so much.”

“Never mention it,” Tsuyoshi waved him off. “You can take a bath now, if you like,” he offered. “We're shooting for the new Single tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow, really?” Koichi asked, but then nodded. “Okay, fine. Thank you. Ah... is this okay?” he asked, pointing at the dirty dishes.

“Perfectly fine,” Tsuyoshi assured him, already taking everything to the sink. “You just go ahead.”

“Thank you so much.”

Tsuyoshi sighed as he cleaned up the dishes. Those were going to be some adventurous four months.
